Content policy
How reminders are chosen, checked, and corrected. Effective 26 October 2026.
Islamic Feed Eradicator shows a small library of reminders that ships with the extension. A community suggestion does not appear in the extension by itself. Checking a source does not make the reviewer a qualified Islamic scholar.
What may be shown
- A Qur'anic verse, with the surah, verse number, and exact Arabic.
- A hadith, with the collection, the numbering system of the cited source, and the Arabic when it is available.
- A quotation from an Islamic scholar, early or later, with the scholar’s full name and the exact words in the original language.
An isolated line is not automatically suitable. A suggestion needs the meaning, the circumstances, any important limit, whether the line is commonly misunderstood alone, and whether a translation is literal or interpretive.
What is not invented
A missing field stays blank. The project does not invent a reason for revelation, a hadith grade, a scholar, a book, or a page. A disputed reading is labeled as disputed. The extension’s English wording is a concise rendering for this extension, not a published translation such as Sahih International.
Sources
Qur'an text in the bundled library was checked against the Quran.com Uthmani text. Hadith Arabic was taken from the public-domain hadith-api dataset, and a grade of “Sahih” is used only because the report is in Sahih al-Bukhari or Sahih Muslim. Scholar quotations name the work they were taken from.
For an explanation of a hadith, Dorar.net (الدرر السنية) is preferred when it explains that report. A link submitted by a community member is not authoritative because it was submitted. A difficult or easily misunderstood hadith needs a scholarly explanation link before it can be approved.
Review
Suggestions move through pending, under review, needs changes, approved, rejected, and published. Only an approved or published reminder may be added to the library, and only by a reviewed change to the bundled data. The extension does not read GitHub issues while you browse.
A reviewer compares the wording with the cited source, checks the reference, and records where it was checked. Fabricated, materially misleading, or untraceable text is rejected.
Corrections
A published reminder can be corrected or removed when a mistake is found. The report should name the reminder, what is wrong, and the source for the correction. The installed copy changes when the extension is updated. The old wording is not silently rewritten.
